The Minnesota Tournament Trail is not just a series of competitions; it’s an adventure that takes you to some of the most picturesque lakes and waterways in the state. Our carefully selected venues offer diverse challenges, ensuring that each tournament is a unique and exciting experience. From the pristine waters of Mille Lacs to the hidden gems of the Boundary Waters, the MTT explores the rich tapestry of Minnesota’s fishing landscapes.
Meet Our tournament director
Larry Kourtem-Tournament Director
Larry has been fishing the MTT for 15 years and had a close personal relationship with former owners Renee and Mike Holt. Angling has been his passion since he was a kid growing up on Millie Lacs Lake. Larry has been married to his wife Laura for 35 years and he resides with his family in the St. Cloud area.
Larry’s desire is to create the best tournament environment, by anglers, for anglers. By doing this he hopes to continue the legacy of his friend and mentor Mike Holt.
A Note from Larry:
I fished many years under Mike and Renee Holt. Mike was a mentor of mine and made a big impact on my life. I hope to honor his memory by continuing his legacy of strong ethics running the tournament trail. My favorite quote of his will always be “ALL EXCUSES ARE GOOD BUT NONE WILL BE ACCEPTED!”
It is my goal to be available for all questions anglers may have, but most importantly, I’m excited to spend the season with you all!
